Depending on the interest of students, there are many clubs and activities that student can join in Ichthus Schools. Student council leadership activities, organizing community service programs to mission trips, participating in external competitions and taking up a co-curricular classes for skills enhancement, the options are varied and many.

Music, Choir & The Performing Arts

Ichthus Schools have a long and strong tradition in the performing arts.  The choir has a tradition of participating in district and national choir competitions and has won many awards.   3 times in a row, back to back  winner of the Christian Choir Competition, our choir represented and will represent the city Jakarta again in the national competitions.  Our students have competed in cities around Indonesia like Pontianak, Ambon and Yogjakarta in the finals and have sung to political dignitaries and VIPs as well.  Music, both vocal and instrumental are compulsory subjects in the Ichthus Schools' curriculum.

The Lion King Christmas Musical

 Our primary school students put up an impressive and mesmerizing performance at our Christmas Year End Event to a rousing standing ovation finale. 

Sports & Athletics

Ichthus excels in sports that foster teamwork and the sporting spirit. Both our boys and girls have won numerous competitions in interschool soccer and basketball competitions. Students can choose to participate in after school sport activities including Soccer, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton and Taekwondo or similar contact sports*

* Close contact sports are temporarily postponed due to covid safety protocols but will be made available when the situation permits

Learning Journeys, Community Services & Mission Trips

Central to Ichthus goals to nurture compassion, servant leadership, stewardship and gratitude, Mission Trips and Community Services  activities are integral in the Ichthus core curriculum.

The Heart of Mission - Blessed to be a Blessing

Our secondary students feeling blessed and grateful to be given much in their lives. Here they reach out to the poor and raised monies for the orphanage in the recent mission outing program. 

Community Services Activities

  • Charity Drives - Guided by counselors, charity campaigns and donations are completely student led and organized. 

  • Mission Trips – Students can participate in a mission activity to help the less fortunate and with the opportunity to share the gospel as well.

  • Learning Journeys – Students will participate in local or oversea trips usually with a mission objective to be involved in a local community project or charitable activity.

  • Buddy Mentoring & Social Care  – In school itself, senior students can volunteer to tutor junior students or clock hours for teaching and guiding young children from our partner preschools in book reading, story telling and singing activities as part of developing stewardship and care for others.

Student Leadership 

There are many opportunities in the life of an Ichthusian to develop leadership, be it running for student council positions or driving student activities organized by the student council.  Students are often given opportunities to lead and project manage events and activities within the school. Secondary students have project managed and led events like our our secondary school Christmas concerts, charity programs with teacher providing guidance and coaching.

Another program for secondary students is student internships. Our high school students have participated in internship stints with partner organizations to gain better appreciation of jobs are coaching for professional development as well.

 With a strong debate culture, many cohorts of  Ichthusians have won debate competitions at an individual level and at the team level at both national and international competitions.  Guided by our English teachers, our secondary have travelled around the world participating in international debate competitions.

Aspiring Writers

Ichthus primary school students often participate in many external story telling and writing competitions One such competition that our students participate yearly is the annual Kidspublish competition where winners will get their stories printed and published with the books sold through Kinokuniya Bookstores. 

Others Popular After School Activities 

The interest in the digital and media skills is picking up in popularity among Ichthusians. The school offer extra curricular programs like :

  • Computer Programming
